The Wren Suite
The Wren Suite is the room that people ask for by name. It occupies the southwest corner of the second floor, where the afternoon light arrives around three and stays until it has nothing left to give. There is a sitting area with two chairs and a side table, a writing desk positioned by the window because that is where a writing desk should be, and enough space to feel like you are not in a hotel at all.
The bed is king-sized, dressed in linen that has been washed so many times it feels like something you inherited. The bathroom has a clawfoot tub — original to the house — and a rain shower that was added in 2012 when the plumbing was redone. There are no robes. There is a wool blanket folded on the chair, which is better.
Guests who stay in the Wren Suite tend to return to the Wren Suite. We keep a small notebook in the desk drawer. Some people write in it. We have never read it.
Frequently requested. One guest's video about this room has been viewed over two million times. We did not ask her to make it.
