The Gazette Room
The Gazette Room is on the second floor, east side, where the morning light comes in with an authority that has caused at least two guests to rearrange their travel plans so they could stay an extra day. The room is named for what it feels like to sit in it with a cup of coffee and something to read — unhurried, informed, slightly old-fashioned in the best way.
There is a queen bed, a desk, and a chair by the window that is positioned at exactly the angle where the light hits the page without hitting your eyes. The bathroom has a pedestal sink and a shower with white subway tile. The fixtures are original brass, polished but not new.
